Recent results, both by Mosta and other teams in the lower part of the table, have meant that tomorrow's clash with Mqabba has emerged as the most important match of the season so far.
The disappointing performance and result against St. Patrick in the last league outing meant that the Blues are now on the edge of entering an unwanted relegation battle. Promotion dreams have now evaporated and with the results of recent weeks a relegation fight is now a distinct possibility. However much depends on tomorrow's clash with Mqabba, who lie in eighth place, four points behind the Blues.
A win for Mosta tomorrow will go a long way to ease minds about any relegation fight, but a draw or defeat will plunge the Blues in deeper waters.
Both teams will be missing key players tomorrow. Mosta will have to do without club captain Bryan Agius (picture right) who broke his tibia in the left leg and will be out for the rest of the season. Kane Farrugia collected his fourth yellow card and will sit out the match through suspension. Melvin Farrugia, David Cauchi, Chris Sant and Chris Pace will again be missing from the squad due to long-term injuries.
On the other hand Mqabba will be without the Calleja brothers - goalkeeper Kris and midfielder Claudio - due to suspension.
