San Marino Cup update . . . MOSTA NURSERY WELL BEHAVED

SWEDEN FOOTBALL INCIDENT

Simon Henwood, who is leading the Mosta FC Youth Nursery group in San Marino, made it clear today that stories in the local media about a fight involving a team from Mosta on the continent have nothing to do with our nursery.

Reports in the local media reported that a team from the Ilves Soccer School from Mosta were involved in an incident against another team while playing in a tournament in Sweden. It was reported that a 14 year old from Mosta performed a karate kick on the referee and was later held in custody for questioning. There was also fighting between the coaches, teams and parents following the team.

Although these stories were probably exagerated, Mr. Henwood made it clear that our nursery were not involved. Simon said: 'Having mentioned the name of Mosta, one would easily come to the conclusion that as our Nursery are taking part in a tournament abroad, we were involved somehow.

'On the contrary, our boys have been well behaved and we have made many friends here.' concluded Mr. Henwood.

In other statements, both the Malta Football Association and the Youth FA have declared that the football team in question is not a member of their associations.

From our information, we do not know of the existence of any school in Mosta under the name of Ilves Soccer School.
