In a statement issued by both the committees of the club and nursery, Simon Cassar has been appointed as the new Under-18 coach to succeed Anton Cremona who has moved on to Gzira United.
Cassar's appointment completes the re-structuring of the technical staff after the confirmation of Oliver Spiteri as First Team coach and the arrival of Ramon Zammit as his assistant and Head Coach of the Nursery. It was also confirmed that the Under-18 team will this year be under the responsibility of the nursery, although Ramon Zammit's appointment will serve to unite the policies and styles of all teams that represent Mosta FC.
Simon Cassar joins from Pieta Hotspurs who he has served in all his football career. He is a Pieta product and formed part of the first Hotspurs team to win promotion to the Premier Division. After his playing career ended, he joined the coaching staff of the Pieta nursery and last season , apart from coaching the Under-17's and Under-18's, Simon was also First Team assistant coach under Joe Grech.
Simon is also the uncle of former Pieta and Mosta midfielder Massimo Grima. We wish him well in his new role.
