PRE-SEASON STARTS ON 2nd AUGUST: BRIGGS AND OSOBU RETAINED

The opening fixtures for the new First Division season will  be known next Monday with the official draws being made at the Centenary Hall in Ta' Qali. During the past weeks the committee and technical staff started the ground work for the new season and now everthing is in place to start the new campaign.

As previously reported, the pre-pre season training started last week with small groups of players from the current squad attending training sessions three times a week under the guidance of First-team coach Oliver Spiteri and his new assistant Ramon Zammit.

PLAYERS' MEETING

The Players' Meeting will be held on Wednesday, 28th July at the club and the proper Pre-Season training will start on Monday, 2nd August at the Charles Abela Stadium. It is hoped that by that day, the new artificial turf pitch will be ready.

Of course the squad will be strengthened with new players for the 2010-11 season, and the committee are in negotiations with several players to join the club. One important transfer will hopefully be concluded tomorrow and mostafootballclub.com will immediately announce the transfer after it is confirmed.

NIKOLA BOGDANOVIC

An ex-Serbia & Montenegro Under-19 international defender, Nikola Bogdanovic, will arrive in Malta soon for a trial with the Blues. The 23 year old will most probably be used in the pre-season friendlies and the this year's edition of the 'Gammari' Muscat' Mosta Tournament which starts on the 23rd of August. Bogdanovic is currently on the books of FC Bokely of Montenegro.

Other news concerns the two foreign players from last season  - Mark Briggs and Victor Osobu  - who have both been retained by the club for next season. Mark Briggs was one of our best performers last season, while Victor Osobu, who joined in January, had injury problems but will be fully fit for the new campaign.
