The death has been announced of Mrs. Gemma Vella, the mother of the club's Team Manager Victor, at the age of 79 years. Gemma passed away this morning at the Mater Dei Hospital. Gemma used to wash the Mosta FC kits during the seventies and eighties and was very much respected as a kind person.
Apart from Victor, Gemma had other family members connected with Mosta FC and football. Her eldest son Vincent was Treasurer of the club for many years and also a kit manager. Gemma's other son, Jimmy, has been involved with the Mosta Gunners for many years.
Gemma's cousin is Ludovigo Micallef, former President of Mosta FC and current Vice-President of the Malta Football Association. Mosta FC defender Adrian Borg is the son of her niece, Joanne.
Our condolences go to her husband Manwel, her daughter Teresin, sons Vincent, Victor and Jimmy, and all their families.
The Funeral and mass will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at the Mosta Parish Church at 3. 30 pm
