MOSTA GROUND PROJECT
The work on the new artificial pitch resumed yesterday as the lower layer of sand started being spread (see video on Home page) around the pitch. This work will continue through this week and then the upper layer of rubber will be next.
Meanwhile work is continuing on the stand with the plastering of the outside wall. The ground dressing rooms are being given a facelift in time for the start of the tournament on the 23rd August.
MALTCO LOTTERIES FIRST DIVISION KNOCK-OUT
Yesterday the draws were made for the Maltco Lotteries First Division Knock-Out competition. The first phase will comprise of two groups of five teams. After yesterday's draw, the Blues were drawn in Group One with the following teams: LIJA ATHLETIC, MELITA FC, MSIDA ST.JOSEPH and BALZAN YOUTHS.
The match sequence sees Oliver Spiteri's boys take on Mdida St. Joseph in the first match, followed by matches against Balzan Youths, Lija Athletic and finally against Melita. All group matches are to be played between the 18th September and 17th October.
MOSTA FC CLUB BAR-B-QUE ON SATURDAY 7th AUGUST.
The club will be organising a Bar-B-Que on Saturday, 7th August, at the Charles Abela Stadium. More details will appear tomorrow.
PLAYERS' MEETINGS
Both Players' Meetings for the First Team and Under-18's will be held this week. Oliver Spiteri and Ramon Zammit will address the First Team squad tomorrow, Wednesday 28th July at the club, while new coach Simon Cassar will meet his players on Friday, 30th July, at the Charles Abela Stadium.
PRE-SEASON TRAINING
Pre-Season training will start on Monday, 2nd August at the Charles Abela Stadium.
